Cruella – a prequel that has relevance for star theory and spectatorship

As it is often an example used in the lesson of ‘you’re not supposed to identify with the villain in an intended reading’ (see Hall), the new Cruella film might just challenge that idea.

This article provides information about the (very) mixed review. Star theory here too, as one critic suggests: Kevin Maher of The Times, saying Stone “just doesn’t scare you”.
